A very dynamic and engaged group met on 18 September to help us launch our Discovery Circles. Fortified with tea, coffee, cake and samosas, between us we managed to generate 15 suggestions for Discovery Circles. These suggestions covered a great range including music, art history, great lives, critical thinking, statistics in the news, American history and politics, foreign literature in translation, and cinema and films.

People grouped around tables talking and holding clip boards. There are paper cups and papers on the table.

There was overlap between some suggestions so we got into groups and started to work on a handful of ideas in more detail. These included Circles for: Archaeology, Exhibition Visiting, Philosophy in the Gallery, Past and Present connections, and Urban Exploration.

LVC will be helping those interested in these initial Circles to get them up and running soon. We will also share the full list of ideas with a wider audience and hopefully more Circles will start to emerge. Any suggestions for Circles from those who were unable to attend the launch are welcome. To find out more about the Discovery Circles proposed, visit our new Discovery Circles section of the website.

LVC would like to thank all those who attended the launch to help to make it such as a great success. A big THANK YOU!
