Professor Bill Jones: BA (Southampton), PhD (Southampton)

Bill has taught English literature to mature students over many years, including for the Universities of Southampton and Newcastle. He has also been the head of Higher Education for the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE, now called the Learning and Work Institute).

His particular interest is English literature of the eighteenth century: he has published a definitive edition of the poetical works of William Falconer.  He has worked for the Vaughan Centre and at the former Vaughan College for many years as a tutor for the part-time HE Certificate and BA in Humanities and Arts.  

He is currently Honorary Professor of Lifelong Learning at the University of Leicester and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
