DESCRIPTION:This workshop is for psychological professionals or those across the caring sector who work with trauma. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nInformation about this workshop\n\n\n\nWorking with trauma can present a unique challenge for the helping professional. This \n\n\n\nworkshop will present the ways in which the helper can be impacted by engaging with \n\n\n\ntrauma and how they can help themselves so that they can continue to help others. Here \n\n\n\nwe will look at the motivation to work with clients or patients that have experienced trauma\, how \n\n\n\nthis impacts the practitioner’s wellbeing and resilience and develop ways in which this can \n\n\n\nbe managed. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis workshop will include input\, reflective exercises\, and discussion. \n\n\n\nWorkshop duration and location \n\n\n\nThe session will last for 2.5 hours and entails a mixture of information sharing and reflective discussion. You may be \n\n\n\nexperiencing symptoms of burnout and want to address your resiliency/self-care to prevent \n\n\n\nimpaired wellbeing so it will help you to continue to help others. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis informative and reflective workshop will offer a space for you to think about your own \n\n\n\nand your clients’ needs regarding resiliency and how this can impact on burnout. We will \n\n\n\nlook at resiliency theory and the factors that can contribute to burnout\, what the signs of \n\n\n\nburnout are and how to develop a resiliency plan. The event will include input\, discussion \n\n\n\nand self-reflection for your own wellbeing. You will do this by exploring the three cornerstone modalities of psychotherapy and counselling: Psychodynamic\, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. \n\n\n\nThe format will be relaxed and welcoming.  It will consist of structured learning\, reflection activities and practical exercises.
